Why do I have missing data?
There are a couple of reasons why you might be missing data from your connected data source. Below we'll break down the most common reasons why you might be missing data
Sparrow lost access: If you aren't seeing any data at all, it's possible that Sparrow lost access to your connected account completely. If you aren't able to see any data, you should click the "reconnect" button on the data source page.
The Platform's services were down: Sometimes when we try and pull data from a third-party platform, they might be experiencing some issues. We'll try and show you a notification when we are aware of this issue. If this is the issue you will just need to wait until the platform's services are back up.
We're missing permissions: If you haven’t granted Sparrow "all permissions" to your profile, we won’t be able to pull your data. Make sure you grant Sparrow access to all of the pages you want to pull data from and make sure you grant permissions that will allow us to pull data. To modify your permissions, you will need to re-connect the data source or go to the platform's website to manage approved permissions.
Platform limitations: Some data sources don't give us all the data we request. For example, Instagram and Twitter do not give back follower data beyond the last 30 days, so if you try and request follower data beyond 30 days you will see an error. It's also possible that your account hasn't been connected to Sparrow long enough for us to capture data.
API Limits: If you request too much data too fast, the platform we pull data from might block additional requests. We try our best to cache your data so it doesn't require multiple API calls, but sometimes limits are still hit. Try waiting 5 minutes before querying data again.
If all else fails your best bet is to disconnect the data source from Sparrow and re-connect it again, paying extra attention to the permissions that the data source asks you to approve. If that does not work, please reach out and someone from our support team will reach out to help.
